Kinsey Quernemoen writes about the foster care and adoption experience from the perspective of a foster parent's biological child — a story of faith, family, and what it means to belong.
The writer
Kinsey Quernemoen was born and raised in south eastern Wisconsin. The youngest biological daughter to her parents, her family lived with an open door to those in need. Growing up in a patchwork family had its challenges. However, through the foster system and adoption, her family grew to include the amazing people she calls her siblings, today.
Kinsey still calls Wisconsin home. She lives with her husband and five children on a creek outside of town. She spends her time chauffeuring children, reading, gardening, and planning special events for friends, family, and her community.
Kinsey volunteers with a variety of local organizations including her family's foundation, whose mission is focused on James 1:27, "to look after widows and orphans in their distress."
Writing about her childhood experience wasn't on her life bingo card. However, when God calls, the best answer is "Yes." When that's hard to say, the next best answer is taking a deep sigh and giving a reluctant, "Ok then."Stay in touch
